It’s been six weeks now of stay at home orders. Thursday my county officially made it mandatory to wear masks when outside in addition to the six feet social distancing. As parks and beaches are opening up (some San Diego beaches on Monday) I guess that made it necessary to set the rule.
The official US COVID-19 death toll is now slightly over 54,000. Think of how many people that is; a whole town or football stadium of people — all gone.
This week they said hypertension was a factor in many of the deaths. We both have hypertension although treated. I want to know when we’ll have a normal life again but at the same time I’m scared to get this virus and be one of the death statistics.
Outings
My one outing this past week was to pick up a chicken meal at Cowboy Chicken.
It was a nice break from cooking. We had takeout a couple of other nights for pizza and burgers. I did cook the other nights. My favorite meal was this chicken tamale pie from Dream Dinners.
I’ve been making more time-consuming meals on Sundays; plus it makes it a bit different from the rest of the week. Last Sunday was pork tenderloin with fried potatoes and green beans. Tonight is meatloaf with baked potato and cheesy broccoli.
Other Things
It finally got warm and it’s so nice. The 10 day forecast shows sun, sun, and more sun with highs ranging from 73 to 84.
We feel very blessed despite being confined to our home outside outings for food, groceries, and medicine. We’re still healthy and all kids are all healthy. All are working as essential personnel or at home. Hoping it stays that way until it’s safe to resume normal life.
