Weekly Tales: Summer Edition

KayLynn · June 24, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Summer officially arrived this week although it’s felt like it for a while.  My two sisters have birthdays this week so there’s celebrating in the family.

Highlights

Father’s Day was as good as it could be given the circumstances.  Although “Solo: A Star Wars Story” isn’t doing great at the box office we both enjoyed it.

The past two days my husband worked to replace our dying palm in our front entrance.  The problem was we didn’t know what it was so he took a picture to the nursery and they identified it for us and he bought the replacement.  Then the next day repotted it.  It’s a beauty!

I also cooked more new to me dishes.

These fat bombs was the most picture worthy.  They turned out tasty and pretty!

I also made keto sausage biscuits (made with almond flour) and ate lots of leftovers from meals made last weekend.

Favorite Reads

It’s time to share a few of my favorite blog reads this past week.

Satisfying Retirement shares the three worst things you can do in retirement.

I’ll be visiting Wichita next month to see one of my sons and was glad to learn about the history, art and fun in Wichita thanks to The Walking Tourists.

The Points Guy explores who own the plane window shade.  I agree it is the passenger in the window seat but it’s not as simple as you think.

Want chicken wings?  Hip2Keto (yes of Hip2Save fame) shares the best air fryer wings (keto or not).  I will be trying this one soon!

Frugal Rules shares nine legit ways to run errands.  I think it’s a great option for supplemental income.

Looking Ahead

Today I’m going to a tea house for the first time.  I’m taking my future daughter-in-law and her mother.  Later in the week I’m going to the delayed birthday lunch with a former co-worker.

Other than that, I’ll be busy at work trying to complete projects before the holiday week.  What do you have planned for the first full week of Summer?
