Weekly Tales: Engagement Party Edition

KayLynn · August 26, 2018 · Leave a Comment

The groom to be and me

We ended the week yesterday at my son and his fiancee’s engagement party at a local yacht club.  It was a wonderful celebration and I’m happy to be gaining such an adorable daughter.

The theme was “love is brewing” and I loved the cute cookies even though I had to pass on chowing down on them.

The food and drinks were plentiful and tasty but even better was the company there to share in the celebration!

Highlights

The week started off with an item of note; not a highlight.  We were abruptly awakened Sunday morning at 3 am by the loud squealing of tires followed by a crash.  A driver had lost control coming up the winding hill next to our home and hit a tree and then our association’s fence.

I called 911 while my husband ran out there.  He was followed by other neighbors who came to see if they could help.  Fortunately, the driver was not seriously injured and the police arrived quickly.  A couple of years ago the same thing happened but the car overturned and the driver was killed.

Tuesday morning I headed to North Carolina for the last of this year’s regional user conferences for my company.  It was a great day; just a bit tiring flying back afterwards.  I didn’t take pictures of anything there but got to say the scenery is beautiful with gorgeous trees.

Looking Ahead

This week finishes off my four trips in a row with me traveling to Philadelphia in the morning for a one day meeting.  No more business travel scheduled until late September at this point.

Then later in the week it’s move-in time to the new office location.   Looking forward to getting back with my co-workers more frequently but I will continue working from home some days to eliminate the new longer commute.  What’s coming up in your week?
