Weekly Keto Update #8

KayLynn · September 24, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Last week flew by even though I was home the entire time. Between work, a house guest and the concert I was doing a lot of planning but also enjoying life!

Progress

My no-carb face before the concert

No big changes in my readings for blood pressure, ketones or glucose but I did great with the scale.  I lost 2.4 pounds this week making it a 19.2 pound loss since starting keto in mid June.

Some of my clothes are getting too baggy so I’m going to have to dig out the box with my smaller sizes and do some “shopping” there.  Otherwise, I’m constantly pulling my pants up.  (Great problem to have so not complaining!)

New Products

For the most part, I’ve transitioned away from diet sodas to sparking water.  Two new types I typed are the flavored Dasani sparking water and the curate La Croix.  Both with really good and I’d definitely buy.  The can shape is different but also adds to the feeling of having something special.

Food and Recipes

I cooked  a lot on Monday.  I cooked up the breakfast sausage and used some in my sausage gravy that morning.  Then I made two entrees after work.  Four servings of crack slaw (adapting different recipes) and five servings of swedish meatballs.  The meatball recipe was from Wicked Good Ketogenic Diet Cookbook (affiliate link).  You can buy it on Amazon and it’s free if you have Kindle Unlimited.  I got my copy at Costco.

I also made ribs and coleslaw on Friday as my brother flew into town for the Eagles concert and a visit.  The highlight meal of the week for me was the tri tip at the concert.

This is after I already ate half the serving

I added mustard and ate away.  I was easily able to fast 15 hours after that meal.

Here is last week’s food log.

Breakfast Lunch Dinner Snacks
Sunday eggs bacon, heavy cream pork carnitas salad pork chop, green beans fat bomb
Monday sausage gravy over scrambled eggs, heavy cream pork carnitas salad rack slaw (cabbage, cream cheese and ground beef) cheddar cheese, fat bomb, piece of Lily’s dark chocolate coconut
Tuesday BPC leftover crack slaw Swedish meatballs over cauliflower rice cheddar cheese, olives, fat bomb
Wednesday sausage gravy over eggs, heavy cream leftover crack slaw salad with tuna cheddar cheese, 1 deviled egg
Thursday BPC leftover Swedish meatballs 1 deviled egg, tuna with mayo, and ketomanna
Friday sausage gravy over eggs, heavy cream leftover crack slaw ribs, coleslaw, g hughes bbq sauce
Saturday Dennys: philly cheesesteak omelette, heavy cream leftover ribs and coleslaw, g hughes bbq sauce Tri trip, vodka soda pumpkin seeds

The image on the right is Sunday evening’s pork chop and two of the week’s breakfasts are on the left.  That’s the Denny’s philly cheesesteak omelette on the top which I gotta say didn’t have much cheese.

Looking Forward

Meal planning is a little late this week (as last week’s was) so I’m not sure what I’m eating as I write this but I’ll be home and able to cook.  Have a wonderful keto week!
