Weekly Keto Update #11

KayLynn · October 15, 2018 · Leave a Comment

I was traveling all week except for Saturday and it felt good to get back home so I can cook and know exactly what’s in my meals.  Plus there’s my husband and pets. 🙂

Progress

Ready for client meeting Thursday.

I finally hit the 20 pound mark in my weight loss (-20.4 pounds exactly) and was excited to get that on my 4 month anniversary of eating a ketogenic diet.  My ketones were in the ketogenic range every morning varying from 0.5 to 0.9.

Fasting blood sugars ranged from 122 to 96 and blood pressure was from a high of 128/72 to 112/66.  Not sure how low it has to go before I can drop my low-dose medication.

In terms of eating, I never went over 20 grams of total carbohydrates all week (yay!).  Lastly, I had to buy new jeans in size 14 as my size 16 new jeans were falling off me.

New Products

I wanted to share a few new products I tried recently.

I picked up these pickles in Oklahoma and loved them.

My only complaint is that the bag isn’t resealable and it’s 3 servings.  The next new to me product is the Boar’s Head Take Along.

I bought this at the Dallas Ft. Worth airport for my dinner Friday.

Food and Recipes

Here is what I ate this week.  Instead of listing the restaurant by meals eaten out, just know all were away from home except for Saturday.

Sunday sausage, eggs, creamer keto manna green beans, cole slaw, Mississippi pot roast cheddar cheese
Monday steak, eggs, butter, creamer 1 wing, keto brick (partial), cheddar cheese caesar salad, New York strip steak, asparagus
Tuesday eggs, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, bacon, half and half burger patty with provolone cheese pimento cheese, pork rinds, salad with ranch, pulled pork olives
Wednesday brie cheese, sausage, half and half pork loin salad with cheese, bacon, olives, blue cheese dressing green beans, pulled pork, butter F Bomb nut butter
Thursday eggs, cheddar cheese, bacon, half and half flank steak, asparagus, zucchini green salad with blue cheese dressing, prime rib, roasted Brussels sprouts

The chicken wing recipe was from the Keto Living Day by Day cookbook (affiliate link) that I’ve made before.  Here are some food pics from the week.

The top left is the pimento cheese served with pork rinds (and crackers for those that eat them) at The Pig and Pint.  On the right is a side salad I had along the way with a caesar salad below it.  The salad on the bottom right was a huge pork loin salad from Room Service in Jackson.  Everyone loved their lunches.

Last but not least, the top two photos are hospital cafeteria lunches.  Not bad!  The bottom two are breakfasts I had away.

Looking Forward

I have a meal plan for this week and bought all the ingredients Sunday when we got our grocery haul at three stores.  I’m looking forward to an unevenful week.  Keto on!
