Symphony of the Seas: Roatan

KayLynn · April 19, 2024 · Leave a Comment

Today Symphony of the Seas docks in Roatan.  A pool day with an empty (or emptier) ship is nice and our plan for today.

Roatan Morning

I slept until 6 am and found Steve at Cafe Promenade. He had gotten up an hour earlier.  We had coffee and I caught up on my daily log. This it was off to the main dining room for breakfast. We had a table by the window so I got to enjoy the view of the port as we docked.

I started with the fruit plate.

My entree was the market vegetable bowl.

It was good. I also had a bagel which was toasted wonderfully but the cream cheese seemed more like sour cream. Not good at all!

Steve had eggs benedict and enjoyed that better than his omelette yesterday (not enough fillings).

After breakfast we got ready for our pool day and then headed upstairs. Two of the pools were closed still so we ended up at the beach pool. We got two loungers in the corner which were in the shade and never had sun the entire day.

For a while we had a private pool.

Serenade of the Seas and Valiant Lady joined us today.

The latter was tendering ashore!

I had a bloody mary while Steve had a corona.

After another round we decided to use the 50% off coupon for beer, wine or soda instead of diamond vouchers so we’d have some tonight. By this point we had only three drinks left between us.

We got lunch at el loco fresh. It was okay and definitely better than trekking to the windjammer. Found out I couldn’t have food inside the beach pool seating but directly behind it was fine so moved until done.

About 1 pm or so we headed back to the room to nap and clean up.

Roatan Afternoon and Evening

Steve was up and gone when I woke and for the life of me I couldn’t remember our agreed upon meeting place. So I went to Park Cafe for a snack.

Turns out he was at the Promenade Cafe wating for me. Oops!

The ship was scheduled to leave at 4 pm and three people apparently didn’t make it back on board.  After getting ready for dinner we had a drink at the Schooner bar (I switched to aperol spritz).

Now down to 1 drink coupon, LOL.  Dinner menu was carribean tonight.

We both started with the coconut shrimp.

It was very good and crispy.  For entree I went with the caribbean chicken.

It was good but too much chicken. That “fried dough” was not worth putting on the plate.  Steve had the garlic shrimp and enjoyed it. Then we both had carrot cake with ice cream.

We rushed more than ususal as we had Hairspray reservations for 7 pm showing. We got there about 6:35 and found good seats.

Really there were pretty good seats available until the last few minutes.  We used the last coupon and had to pay full price for our last round of the day. (Oh the horror!).

The hour and a half went fast but it definitely varies a bit from the plot in the movie.

Excellent performances by all!

Then we went back to the cabin and found a penguin! It was a wonderful day.

Here is today’s cruise compass.
