Norwegian Escape: St. Thomas

KayLynn · May 22, 2024 · Leave a Comment

Today the Norwegian Escape will visit St. Thomas but not until 11:30 am staying until 7 pm. We’ve already decided to stay on board.

St. Thomas Morning

We were up around 6 (Steve before me as usual) and met in the Garden Cafe for coffee before breakfast.

The free coffee wasn’t doing it for me today so I got a latte in the atrium coffee shop.

It was very good. Then we went to the dining room shortly after it opened.

I had a mimosa for my juice while Steve stuck with virgin orange juice.

The fruit salad was very good.

One of today’s specials was the load hash browns and I had that with an English muffin.

It was not toasted and cold the first time I got it so I sent it back for some toasting.  When I got it back it was warm but not browner. It was fine with the melted butter on top.

Steve had the Belgian waffle.

He said it was too crispy. He also had eggs benedict (no picture).

Afterwards, we got ready for the pool and headed up. We found two nice loungers that would be in the shade shortly and sat behind them for a little while waiting for it to shift.

There were tons of empty loungers until we left for lunch at 1 pm.

In between we enjoyed having drinks (bloody Mary for me and Corona for Steve). Eventually I was hungry and we went to the buffet for lunch.

Then it was nap time.

St. Thomas Evening

Dinner tonight was at Savor.

I started with the beet salad.

It wasn’t what I expected but was tasty.  Steve had the Waldorf salad.

For entree I had the bang-bang shrimp and chicken.

It was good but the curry needed to be dialed up to at least a 2-3. It was 0-1.  Steve had the mixed bbq grill and enjoyed it.

The dessert menu looked promising and we both ordered the bananas foster.

This is what came.

The ice cream was totally melted and the bananas were swimming in way too much sauce. In that dish it was impossible to try to cut the banana to the proper size for your mouth without getting the sauce everywhere. Disappointing end to an another delicious meal.

We went back to the cabin and watched as we sailed away from St. Thomas around 7 pm.

Westin hotel lit up

It is a beautiful evening.

We watched the newer Cinderella movie (2021). I enjoyed the reinterpretation of the story.  Lights were out sometime after 9 pm (yes, early!).
