Allure of the Seas: Labadee Day 2

KayLynn · July 4, 2023 · Leave a Comment

It’s going to be another sea day at Labadee and I was up at 5 am this morning! Not sure why.

Labadee Morning

I noticed the room steward had only left me one clean beach towel even though he took two wet and dirty ones.  Hmm I’ll have to talk to him about that so I don’t get charged.

I had my usual breakfast sandwich and watermelon for breakfast.

This was followed by a bran muffin when I was still a bit hungry.

I headed to my cabin to get ready to go ashore. I was just finishing up when the captain announced we were cleared,. My sisters were ready too so I met them at their cabin and we proceeded to the gangway.

Here is the map provided by Royal Caribbean.

We stopped to take pictures with the Labadee sign and a kind lady offered to take our picture.

We then walked to the tram for Columbus Cove and waited a few minutes for one to come.

I appreciate that Royal Caribbean even has art on Labadee.

The chairs were arranged a bit differently today and we got four behind the sidewalk to make sure we had shade (it wasn’t enough but we got a solution).

We all three enjoyed relaxing in the water several times. When the sun was hitting my chair I was able to move to a chair with umbrella that was next to us and unclaimed still. By the time we left at 11:30 people were arriving in droves and trying to find chairs by the water — nope you got to get up much earlier for that.

We had takers for our chairs before we even left, lol. Sometime in the morning I had a labadoozie which was delicious but at one point I drank it so fast had a terrible brain freeze.

Labadee Afternoon

It was a very short wait for the tram and I was surprised how many people (besides us) that were heading back. Some had excursions (zip line).

A band was playing at the bandstand by town center and they were good. M and I posed in the giant chair before walking back to the ship.

My turn.

This time someone was manning the towel station and we turned in our wet towels. I had managed to get a second towel from the beach club concierge so turned that one in too.

Once back at my cabin, I found this dreaded paperwork.

It means this wonderful vacation is almost over! Checked with my sisters and they have same number so we’re good.

I wanted to get one more kummelweck sandwich so went to park café for lunch after showering.

It was very good but since the sun was in full force on all the outdoor seating it was very crowded in the seating area and people couldn’t help but run into each other’s tables trying to get by.

Also found my favorite cookie and took two to the cabin for later.

Didn’t really like the Thai chicken salad; way too dry — no dressing.

Labadee Evening

After a nice nap, I got ready for dinner (dress to impress night) and met my sisters on 15. We left in time for our 5:45 pm reservations at Sabor. M had gone to guest services earlier and canceled our Samba Grill reservation so I was able to make one for  Sabor. We also wanted to change to Chops for the last evening but it is fully booked.

We started with guacamole and ordered drinks.

This time I got a handcrafted margarita along with M.

It was wonderful! T and I started with the chicken tortilla soup.

It was good but too small a serving IMHO. Then I had the chicken flautas.

Just okay as the shells were kind of greasy. T had the grilled branzino (they haven’t had snapper which is on the menu for 3 months according to our server). She enjoyed it but gave me her fried plantains which I enjoyed. M had the chicken quesadilla which she enjoyed but was a huge serving.

We decided to skip dessert as we weren’t that hungry and I was getting too warm after sitting outside so long.

Then we split for the evening. I went to the schooner bar and had a grapefruit habanero daquiri.

Very tasty. Quit then as I was out of diamond drinks and am cheap!
