Allure of the Seas: Labadee Day 1

KayLynn · July 3, 2023 · Leave a Comment

Today is our first day at Labadee and I was up at 6 am.

Labadee Day 1 Morning

After coffee and tablet time at Cafe Promenade, I met my sisters for breakfast.  We got there when it first opened.

We’re meeting for breakfast at Solarium Bistro. Went there about 7:30 and were first ones of the day. The server by the bread was so busy talking to his coworker with his back to the counter that we had to say something two separate times to get his attention. All the other servers were super attentive, getting us what we wanted and drinks.

I had a bacon and cheese omelette with fruit, hash brown potato and a bagel with cream cheese Next time I have to remember to ask for cheddar cheese in my omelette. Otherwise terrific.

Then we got ready for our beach day. T had too much sun in Aruba so is skipping today.

Labadee Beach Visit

M and I walked off shortly after clearance and were taking photos with the ship at 8:40 am.

After passing the welcoming dancers, we found the tram station.

Our stop is Columbus Cove where we found great chairs in front and settled in.

The water was fantastic – not cold and clear as can be.

This changed as more people got in and stirred up the soft sand.  We also had a great view of the ship!

There’s a smoking area close to where we were sitting, as was the bar, restrooms and lunch area.

I went to the bar once and got a labadoozie (the bar waiters never made it as far a we were).

It was good!

We decided to get lunch before noon and the rush. It was not as big a spread as at CocoCay but got the job done. The salad station had pasta salad, watermelon with feta and Caesar salad all pre-packaged. Then there was Caribbean rice, corn on the cob, hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and jerk chicken.

Unfortunately the chicken and rice were both overcooked and dry. Otherwise a good beach meal.

Dessert options were rum cake, coconut macaroon and fresh fruit. We both had the coconut macaroons. Very good!

We decided to head back about 12:30. It was getting very crowded in the water and they had put up extra chairs wherever they could fit them in.

We had to wait about 10 minutes for a tram back. I can’t imagine how busy it would get later.  Once onboard, I showered before taking a nap.

150 Central Park and Mamma Mia!

We had dinner at 5pm at 150 Central Park.

I had another urban garden martini to start.

Of course the bread was fantastic as always.

I started with the pumpkin bisque which was fantastic.

Then I had the scallops which I didn’t care for.

I felt they weren’t firm enough.

My entrée this time was the halibut which I loved.

Sister T had veal medallions and M had the beef tenderloin.  I think this picture is veal medallions.

T had cheese plate for dessert.

I had the fried cheesecake and M had the chocolate tart.

We all enjoyed them and left in time for a visit to the smoking area before heading to the Amber theater. Tonight is Mamma Mia!

We found good seats on the side and settled in. It got pretty full but there were some seats available. Wow, what a wonderful show. . Hard to believe we can see a full theater production on a cruise.  It was almost ten pm when we left so it is a long show.

Afterwards I went to the pool bar and got a ginger ale to take to my cabin. This guy was waiting for me.

After reading a while, I turned the lights out at 11 pm.
