Allure of the Seas: Disembarkation

KayLynn · July 6, 2023 · Leave a Comment

I was up at 5 am after a bad night’s sleep. My neighbor was in and out of their door about 10 times from 10:30 pm to 11:15 pm. I guess they were a little late getting their luggage out.

Disembarkation Morning

After getting dressed and packing up my stuff, I headed to cafe promenade. I used two of my diamond drinks on specialty coffees; almond milk latte for me and an americano for T. I took them up to 15 and joined both my sisters while we enjoyed our coffee.

Breakfast

We went to the main dining room around 6:40 and was able to get seated right away. Our table at the window didn’t have much of a view but we did watch the black SUVs line up for the isolation patients.

I started with a mimosa (diamond drink) and more coffee was had all around. This was followed by a bagel with cream cheese. I had the vegetable bowl for breakfast which was missing the potatoes.

Also had bacon on the side.

A server came by with complimentary mimosas so I had another.

I went back to my cabin via the cafe promenade where I got a diet coke with my fourth diamond drink to take the hotel. Then after brushing my teeth was ready to go. I met my sisters when they were ready and went to our assigned waiting area; amber lounge deck 5.

Disembarking

We were seated and ran into a rude person who was mad I had to walk by them to get out of the row to go to the bathroom. He wanted me to climb over the seats and go through another row. Okay. Some people are just not happy no matter what.

We were called off a little after our estimated time of 8:30. I quickly found my bags but my sisters were each missing one of theirs. While they were looking through other areas on the other side, I saw a man roll a bag over and when I went and looked it was T’s. I called them and they cam looking in the same area hers came from and found M’s. Then it was a quick walk through facial recognition. We called for an uber and it took about 10 minutes. I got a XL due to all the luggage. We had a good drive to the hotel.

Fort Lauderdale Hotel

We’re staying at the Ramada by Wyndham Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port (since closed). They provide shuttles to both but we didn’t want to wait for them to pick us up.

We preliminary checked in and got pool towels. Dropped our luggage in the storage room and enjoyed the pool.

About 11:30 I went in and ordered lunch at the restaurant. The front desk called me saying the room was ready right before noon and I checked in. Got my lunch to go and picked up my bags with help from M who’s room was also ready.

My chicken philly sandwich was just okay but I wasn’t hungry any more. 🙂

We all napped. When I went to do laundry at the guest services a few hours later I found T was putting hers in the dryer. Washer/dryer was $2 each and a pack of detergent was $1 so for five dollars I have clean laundry. Much cheaper than the ship.

Fort Lauderdale Evening

We met up again about 5:15 to head to dinner.  It was just a one block walk to the end of the street where the Rendezvous Bar and Grill was at the marina. We had a choice of indoor or outdoor seating but it very humid today so we ate indoors. Our server, Adam, was very good and very funny.

I had the grilled grouper with two sides.

T had half rack of ribs with two sides and M had french dip with one side.

We all enjoyed our meals and my sisters had leftovers to take back to the room.

I need to repack and want to watch some shows on my Youtube TV DVR.  Tomorrow my sisters are flying home and I’m driving to my future home town for a couple of days.  It was a great trip!
